This week we engage in conversation with Mitali’s mom, Dr Joyashree Dhar. She is a gynecologist/obstetrician with over 50 years of work experience having practiced in multiple countries including Zambia, UK and Oman.
Ten years ago she decided to retire and return to her home country, India. She found herself in a new situation, no career to define her days, living alone in a new city (Kolkata) without the social infrastructure that she had established over twenty plus years living in Muscat, Oman. So she turned to her bigger life purpose - being in service of the poor and uneducated to help them through their health and fertility needs which in turn reduced the loneliness she feels in her own life.
Click on the purple button “Listen” above to hear about how she engaged with new communities, invested in old friendships and family relationships to find new ways to be satisfied and less lonely in her solitary life.
