Thank you for sharing your heartfelt thoughts on something so painful. I live in a country that shares a border with Russia (Finland) and I can say that the fear here is very real. Finland was invaded by Russia (when it was part of the Swedish realm) in 1809. It was part of Russia for 100 years before the Finns fought them off and gained independence in 1917. For many Finns, the memory of being part of Russia is still alive. The threat of another invasion right now seems real. My heart bleeds for the people of the Ukraine. They are courageous. Brave. And will be reeling from the aftermath of this war for decades.
