Another beautiful and thought-provoking piece! Thank you, both of you 💗 Tomorrow I’ll be picking up a friend at the airport here in the town I live in here in Finland. She’s flown from Australia via Copenhagen, and it’ll be only the second time I’ve seen her in nearly a decade. We went to school together. Friends since we were 12. No matter how long it’s been between our catch ups, we pick up where we left off, sharing our thoughts, what’s been happening, our kids and partners and memories. I have a few friends like this - a beautiful handful. I think about friendship a great deal now I live so far away from many of the friends I’ve made over my adult life. I’ve made friends here, of course, over the 6 years I’ve lived here but it’s been slow. The language barrier perhaps adding to that. Thank you for sharing so much about your lives!
